Saildrone has unveiled Spectre, a large, long-endurance unmanned surface vessel designed to help the US Navy maintain a persistent maritime presence in contested waters where manned ships cannot be continuously deployed.
At 52 meters long, Spectre combines hybrid propulsion, modular payload capacity, and advanced autonomy to support missions such as surveillance, anti-submarine warfare, and electronic warfare. It can operate for long ranges at high speeds and carry containerized mission systems, including sensors and potential weapon integrations.
Introducing Saildrone Spectre: Today at Sea Air Space, Saildrone introduced our largest and most capable platform to date: At 52 m, Saildrone Spectre is a modern, stealth-optimized USV designed for demanding, long-duration defense missions.

The platform is offered in two variants: Spectre Silent Endurance, optimized for long-range, low-signature acoustic operations, and Spectre Stealth Strike, designed for higher speed and reduced visual and radar profile for more aggressive mission profiles.

Built on a decade of Saildrone experience, the platform is being developed with defense partners, including Lockheed Martin, and is intended to provide cost-effective, continuous coverage of critical sea lanes and undersea infrastructure, with sea trials expected in 2027.
