Shield AI announced that L3Harris Technologies has licensed its Tracker Counter-UAS software to integrate with the VAMPIRE counter-drone system, creating an AI-powered solution for detecting, tracking, and defeating unmanned aerial threats. Tracker C-UAS uses AI and computer vision to analyze EO/IR video and detect distant drones without radar or RF emissions, helping operators identify threats while reducing their own exposure.

The integration builds on an earlier demonstration using L3Harris WESCAM MX-series sensors. The companies say the combined system provides earlier warning and more precise counter-drone engagement. VAMPIRE is designed to operate from vehicles, vessels and other platforms and has logged more than 350,000 operational hours and downed hundreds of hostile drones since 2023, primarily supporting European operations.
