Saronic announced the launch of its first Marauder Medium Unmanned Surface Vessel (MUSV), an autonomous ship designed for defense and commercial missions far from shore. The company said the vessel moved from design to on-water trials in under a year, highlighting a rapid production pace enabled by its integrated shipbuilding approach.
Marauder can operate autonomously or under remote supervision, travel at speeds above 25 knots, and cover up to 5,400 nautical miles. With a payload capacity of 150 metric tons and modular container support, the vessel can be configured for logistics, surveillance, intelligence gathering, research, and other maritime operations.
Saronic said its Franklin, Louisiana, shipyard is expected to produce up to 20 Marauders annually by the end of 2026. The company has also developed a software platform that gives operators real-time visibility and remote oversight of the vessel’s autonomous systems.
