Last November, Anduril Industries and HD Hyundai partnered to develop autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) combining advanced autonomy with world-class shipbuilding. The first vessel is now in production, with testing underway and deployment expected soon.
This effort comes as rising naval competition—particularly from China and Russia—pushes the U.S. toward scalable, cost-effective unmanned fleets. The US Navy’s Medium Unmanned Surface Vessel (MUSV) program aims to meet this need.
To scale production, Anduril is leveraging global commercial shipbuilding through partners like HD Hyundai and Edison Chouest Offshore, positioning itself to deliver autonomous fleets faster and more efficiently than traditional naval models.
