The Vector AI is a modular, AI-enabled vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) drone from Quantum-Systems, designed as an ISR platform for land and maritime operations, supporting intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions in contested environments.
It features a unique 2-in-1 design, allowing operators to switch between fixed-wing mode for extended endurance (up to 3+ hours) and multicopter mode for precision, short-range operations (~45 minutes). Equipped with onboard AI processing (dual NVIDIA Jetson Orin), it enables real-time object detection, tracking, and autonomous navigation—even in GPS-denied or electronic warfare conditions.
The system supports a wide range of payloads, including EO/IR sensors, acoustic detection for artillery and gunfire, SIGINT/EW modules, and even tethered or kinetic payloads. Its rapid deployment (under 3 minutes), long data-link range (up to ~40 km), and ability to operate from confined or moving platforms make it highly adaptable for modern battlefield use.
The US Army selected Vector AI under a $15.3 million contract in April 2026 for its Company-Level sUAS Directed Requirement 2 program, equipping Brigade Combat Teams with advanced, rapidly deployable reconnaissance systems and supporting broader modernization efforts.
