Anduril and Qualcomm Technologies have announced BlueChip, a new initiative to rebuild U.S. computer manufacturing and reduce dependence on overseas supply chains. The project will begin with a laptop powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Series platform, designed and assembled in the United States for government, defense, public safety, and other critical industries. Anduril has developed functional prototypes and plans to begin accepting orders in 2027.

More than 90% of the prototype’s component procurement costs currently come from U.S. and allied-country suppliers. Anduril plans to expand domestic production of components, including enclosures, batteries, circuit boards, and display assemblies, with circuit board assembly planned for its Arsenal-1 facility in Ohio.

The initiative aims to address supply chain vulnerabilities by rebuilding the domestic manufacturing capabilities and supplier networks needed to produce computers at scale. BlueChip will initially prioritize domestic sourcing before working toward a fully U.S.-based supply chain, with the manufacturing expertise developed through the laptop program intended to support future computing products.
