Elbit Systems’ subsidiary FUSE, in partnership with Mistral Inc., will supply its THOR Group 2 uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) to the US Army under a procurement contract awarded by the Army Contracting Command. The system is intended to support company-level small drone requirements for tactical operations.
The THOR UAS is a backpack-portable, fully autonomous, multi-rotor VTOL drone designed for rapid deployment and flexible battlefield use. It supports missions such as reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition, communications relay, resupply, and modular payload delivery, with the ability to adapt to changing mission needs.
The system emphasizes autonomy—automated takeoff, landing, and mission execution—to reduce operator workload while enabling fast reconfiguration in the field. Avandra LLC, Elbit Systems’ US subsidiary, will provide training and technical support.
The partnership highlights growing U.S. military adoption of modular, autonomous drone systems designed for fast, multi-mission tactical use.
