Castelion has received a U.S. Navy production order worth up to $200 million to manufacture, test, and deliver an initial batch of Blackbeard hypersonic weapons to the fleet. The order follows 50 weapons purchased for early operational capability in June.

Blackbeard is an air-launched, long-range hypersonic weapon designed for naval aircraft to strike maritime and land targets at high speed. Castelion says the program has moved rapidly toward production through private investment, commercial manufacturing methods, and close cooperation with the U.S. military.

Production will take place at Castelion facilities in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and Torrance, California.
