At Mercola.com, Dr. Joseph Mercola alerts readers to an FDA warning that there may be a small risk that taking “two-fer” vaccinations that include both the flu shot and Covid vaccine could raise the risk for strokes in the elderly. He writes:
The TV commercials are promoting it: Save time and get a “two-fer” when you arrive at the local grocery or pharmacy, and get your COVID shot at the same time as your flu shot.
But is that really what you want to do? Not according to the FDA, which is reporting that two new analyses are showing that, for elderly citizens, getting the COVID jab along with the senior high-dose flu shot may increase your risk for a stroke.
While the FDA added that the risk is “small” and may even just be linked to only the flu shot, the risk is still there, especially for people age 85 and older, and “only applied to the Pfizer and Moderna bivalent Covid booster vaccines.”
An additional concern is for children ages 2 to 5, who have shown to be more likely to suffer seizures after a coronavirus jab.
