Northrop Grumman has successfully completed a key flight test for Jackal, its next-generation precision strike missile, validating the readiness of its airframe, turbojet propulsion, navigation, and autopilot systems. During the test, the missile demonstrated a rapid automated engine start, precise guided flight, and agile high-speed maneuvering. Engineered for multi-domain deployment in contested, GPS-denied environments, Jackal uses a low-detection flight path to strike targets swiftly before they can react.

The system delivers an operational range of 100 km from surface launches and 125 km from the air, sustaining speeds over 300 mph. It leverages AI-driven algorithms to autonomously identify and engage threats without a direct line of sight. Highly mobile, Jackal can be integrated onto light tactical vehicles carrying up to eight launch canisters for rapid-fire missions. Northrop Grumman plans further testing as the program progresses toward full operational readiness.
