Lockheed Martin received a $1.1 billion contract from the United States Army for additional M142 HIMARS launchers to support both US forces and allied nations.

The deal expands production of the highly mobile precision-strike system, which has proven highly effective on modern battlefields thanks to its rapid deployment capability, long-range accuracy, and interoperability with allied militaries. HIMARS can be transported by C-130 aircraft and quickly positioned for combat operations.

Lockheed Martin is also investing in next-generation munitions, including extended-range rockets and advanced guided payloads, to further improve the system’s reach and lethality as global demand for precision artillery continues to grow.
