Raytheon, an RTX business, announced a multinational initiative to expand global production of the AMRAAM air-to-air missile in partnership with the US government and several NATO allies. The effort includes feasibility studies to qualify additional European suppliers for key missile components, with the goal of increasing production capacity, speeding deliveries, and strengthening supply chain resilience.
The initiative is funded by participating NATO nations and aims to meet growing demand for air defense capabilities in both the United States and Europe. US officials said expanding AMRAAM production will strengthen allied defense readiness and improve burden-sharing across the alliance.
The agreement was formally recognized during the NATO Summit, with additional countries expected to join the collaboration as demand for the combat-proven missile continues to grow.
