South Korea’s KF-21 “Boramae” fighter has officially entered mass production, marking a major milestone in the country’s defense industry a decade after the program began, reports Korea Aerospace Industries, Ltd.

The advanced 4.5-generation jet features indigenous AESA radar and electronic warfare systems, with full air-to-air capability and planned upgrades for strike missions. The first unit will undergo testing before delivery to the Republic of Korea Air Force in 2026, where it will help replace aging aircraft and strengthen air defense.

The KF-21 is also expected to become a competitive export platform, positioning South Korea as a key player in the global fighter jet market.
