Lawfare uses legal systems and institutions to damage or delegitimize an opponent. It’s a means of deterring individuals of their legal rights.
Democrats understand Lawfare and employ it 365 days a year, argues BRIGHT editors:
Democrats routinely use the legal system to attack and delegitimize their opponents. They understand that the constant, subtle application of legal challenges can change the election environment – even if they don’t ultimately pass muster in court.
Bombarding state legislatures and election officials with legal threats scare them into agreeing to radical election models that favor Democrats. This has become a niche legal industry for Democrats.
In fact, there is a clear effort to drive Republican lawyers out of politics and leave the GOP defenseless against activist attacks.
In Other News:
Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell has caved to outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and will allow the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to include the highly controversial media cartel bill the Journalism Competition and Preservation Act (JCPA), sources familiar with the matter told Breitbart News.
Kevin McCarthy, House GOP leader and likely next Speaker of the House in January, objected but “acquiesced to lobbyists’ pressure.” McCarthy agreed to include the JCPA in the base text of the NDAA.
McCarthy was the only member of congressional leadership to fight back against the inclusion, but was overruled three to one after McConnell caved.
