We’ll Burn the Place Down!

UPDATE 11.17.23: Americans are worried about the crime they see in their cities. A recent Gallup poll found that 63% say U.S. crime problem is extremely/very serious. That’s a new high. Gallup reports:

Sixty-three percent of Americans describe the crime problem in the U.S. as either extremely or very serious, up from 54% when last measured in 2021 and the highest in Gallup’s trend. The prior high of 60% was recorded in the initial 2000 reading, as well as in 2010 and 2016.

Meanwhile, far fewer, 17%, say the crime problem in their local area is extremely or very serious, but this is also up from 2021 and the highest in the trend by one point over 2014’s 16%.

In addition to the 17% describing the local crime problem as extremely or very serious, 36% say it is moderately serious, 31% not too serious and 16% not at all serious.

The latest results are based on Gallup’s annual Crime survey, conducted Oct. 2-23. Americans have always, by a large margin, perceived the crime situation in the U.S. as worse than the crime situation in their local area.

Public perceptions of the national and local crime problems have been worsening since 2020, when 51% thought the U.S. crime problem was extremely or very serious, and 10% said the same of the local crime problem.

UPDATE 3.24.23: How are you feeling about America’s rising crime? House Majority Steve Scalise and Congressman Randy Feenstra have written about Democrats’ soft-on-crime agenda:

Despite what Democrats claim, our growing concerns about public safety are not unfounded. Crime is skyrocketing in major U.S. cities nationwide because Democrats have defunded their police departments, ended cash bail and allowed violent criminals back on our streets to terrorize communities with no more than a slap on the wrist.

Naturally, these dangerous policies have consequences. More than 15 U.S. cities – including Atlanta, Austin, and St. Paul – saw their 2021 homicide numbers break previous records.

According to the Major Cities Chiefs Association’s 2022 crime report, homicides have increased by 41% in Chicago, 45% in Philadelphia, and 236% in Portland since 2019. These alarming statistics should serve as a wake-up call for Democrats to reevaluate their failed agenda. However, in our nation’s capital, pro-criminal policies are the extreme left’s gold standard.

In Washington, D.C., just this year, sexual abuse is up 100%, motor vehicle theft is up 111%, and homicides have increased by 18%. But, just weeks ago, even despite the liberal mayor’s veto, the Washington, D.C. City Council approved legislation to slash prison sentences for the worst offenders, eliminate penalties for a slew of violent crimes, and release scores of dangerous criminals back onto our streets. Sadly, this is the Democrats’ blueprint for America – right in President Joe Biden’s back yard.

UPDATE 3.25.22: Yesterday Joe Biden warned of food shortages, blaming them on the war between Russia and Ukraine. Imagine the unrest in America’s streets when food begins to run low. If tribalism and violence looked bad in Summer 2020, imagine how they’ll look when the shelves are bare. It’s time to get your gun and your training now.

At Taki’s Magazine, Taki Theodoracopulos outlines the frightening reality taking hold of America, and the world, today. He writes (abridged):

Apple pie, farms, local movie theaters, pickup baseball games, swimming holes, volunteer firemen, and small libraries with very old lady librarians: an America soon to be gone with the wind.

I just read a piece by Scott McConnell in The American Conservative, a magazine we cofounded eighteen years ago, that mentions unfairness in the historical sense. He writes about the victims of communism being less commemorated than the victims of fascism.

Now America itself is being challenged—as is Britain—by Orwellian methods of truth reversals.

America and Britain are under attack by anarchists and thugs, while media pimps and opportunistic politicians are excusing the mobs.

Big foundations, tech behemoths, media giants, prestigious universities, and embedded elites are all united in transforming a nation that has always meant well, but has gone wrong whenever those mentioned above were involved.

And the elites are getting away with murder all over again as I write.

“No whites in the Bronx,” screams an intimidating 6-foot-6 black BLM (a Marxist group) leader by the name of Hawk Newsome.

“We don’t want white people in the Bronx, otherwise we’ll burn the place down.”

Best to consider how you will defend your family now, rather than wishing you had. Dana Loesch recently explained that this type of threat is what the second amendment is for. If you haven’t already, consider purchasing the Army’s new handgun or an AR-15.
