Ukraine Strikes More Russian Gas and Oil Facilities

The Kyiv Independent reports that on Oct. 9, Ukrainian forces struck a major Russian gas processing plant in Kotovo and an oil pipeline station in Yefimovka, both located in Russia’s Volgograd Oblast, according to Ukraine’s General Staff. The attacks, reportedly conducted by Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, caused explosions and fires confirmed by satellite data. The targeted Korobkovsky Gas Processing Plant and Yefimovka Dispatch Station are key to Russia’s energy infrastructure, with capacities of 450 million cubic meters of gas and 50 million tons of oil per year, respectively. The strikes are part of Ukraine’s broader campaign to disrupt Russian energy revenues, fueling the invasion. They write:
