Horseradish: Johnny Bowden explains that a study from the University of Illinois shows that horseradish has substantial quantities of allyl isothiocyanate, which is believed to play a role in the prevention of tumors and in the suppression of tumor growth. Johnny continues in noting that Glucosinolates in food increase the liver’s ability to detoxify carcinogens. Horseradish contains 10 times more Glucosinolates than broccoli.
