Senator Rand Paul said this morning that he believes Syrian president Bashar Assad “deserves death” for ordering attacks on civilians, but he’s opposed to authorizing military intervention in Syria because the current plan of action is designed not to target the tyrant himself.

Read the Following Letter from a N.Y. Congressman
Get a first-hand look at just how strongly Americans feel about staying out of a Syrian civil war. Below is the response a reader received from his congressman, Chris Gibson, (R-NY 19). Thank you very much for contacting me regarding military intervention in Syria. It is good to hear from you. As a country, we face […]
Hedge Funds Take 25% of Rhode Island’s Profits
Taking a quarter of the profits in fees is outlandish especially when the profits are a thin as they are for Rhode Island. The Wall Street Journal reports: The Employees’ Retirement System of Rhode Island puts 14% of its investments in hedge funds. One firm it invests with, California-based Ascend Capital LLC, recently offered to […]
Poisonous Chicken from China?
I have long been writing to stick with local, cage-free chicken and eggs. And do not buy into eggs frequently labeled free range, when under close scrutiny the labeling is false. Now the U.S. government is going to allow processed chicken from that bastion of cleanliness China into the U.S. without labeling to indicate the […]

The Wall Street Journal reports here on the current releveraging. Five years after excessive debt propelled a housing-market collapse into a financial crisis and recession, similar […]
Obama Against Students
The Washington Times alerts readers: “The White House has taken Louisiana’s poorest schoolchildren and crushed their hopes for a better future.” This is all about unions against school choice and is a disgusting display of arrogance by the Obama administration and the Eric Holder-led Justice Department. I know first hand how well Louisiana’s school choice […]
I Love This Article
Americans can benefit from some common sense (non-McCain-like ) on the Syrian issue. Here The Washington Post‘s Matt Miller delivers the goods in spades. Nice job Matt! A sample: 3. The thin red line. Does anyone think we would be doing the same thing today if the president hadn’t made his “red line” remark? If the […]
TOP SECRET/CLOSED
This Washington Post article will help you understand just how much critical information you are not getting from the politicians in Washington. John Kerry was making his “beyond a reasonable doubt” case against Syria’s Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday when he gave lawmakers a bit of faulty intelligence. “Just today, before coming in here, I read […]
