Coronavirus Infects Stock Market: Part LXII
Welcome to Phase 3 in Rhode Island, where front-page news is “Weddings, Movies, Music (are) on with Masks,” and “A New World: Should the Columbus Statue in Newport be Removed?” Talk about pressing matters. You’re in Rhode Island now, where the governor has gone wild.
That’s right, Gov. Gina Raimondo says let them eat cake! But, no weddings over 50 people indoors, and only up to 100 if outdoors. But, get this, if some people scheduled large weddings pre-pandemic, exceptions will be made if the state Department of Business Regulation is consulted. Meet the entitled crowd.
Hello? As if there aren’t other things to worry about. How about the gutted economy Gina? Anyone home?
News flash: Deaths from the China virus are down—way down. But that doesn’t stop the progressives from hammering away at the uptick in new cases. It’s as if they can’t wait for that second wave to crash the election. The new Biden lawn signs are face masks covering pursed lips as bulging eyes look down on you.
Welcome to Rhode Island, but read the small print: If you’re traveling from a state that has a 5% or higher test positivity rate, you are required to quarantine for 14 days says the governor—got that? People who can prove they have had a negative test in their home state within the previous 72 hours won’t have to quarantine. Will they need a permission slip from home too, Gina?
Welcome to the new world.
