McCardle of SOFREP, which cites a highly placed source within the special operations community, the mission was executed by Delta Force with maritime support from SEAL Team Six. President Trump said the pair are being taken to New York to face long-standing US charges related to narcotics trafficking and narco-terrorism, describing the action as a focused strike against a criminal regime, not the Venezuelan people.
