Elite US special operations forces reportedly seized Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, in a pre-dawn raid at their Ft. Tiuna residence and rapidly transported them to the USS Iwo Jima. According to Guy D. McCardle of SOFREP, which cites a highly placed source within the special operations community, the mission was executed by Delta Force with maritime support from SEAL Team Six. McCardle writes:

He reiterated U.S. support for the Venezuelan people and warned that any remaining regime figures tied to narcotics trafficking or foreign adversaries would face similar consequences.
