Newly-elected Republicans in the House are uniting to create what they call the “Freedom Force.” It’s a move to oppose progressive Democrats Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, often referred to as The Squad.
Former NFL player Burgess Owens, one of the newly elected congressmen from Utah, told Laura Ingraham, Freedom Force will be “a contrast to the hard left. We have Freedom Force versus The Squad.”
One central mission of the Freedom Force will be to defend entrepreneurism and free enterprise in America. Owens explained on Fox News, “Business ownership is the foundation of our freedom, it’s where our middle class comes from. We have different cultures, backgrounds, colors. But what we have in common is that we have a love for our country and we’re going to make sure we stay free.”
Freedom Force, as reported by BRIGHT editors, comprises a diverse group of new lawmakers, including Owens, Nicole Malliotakis, Michelle Steel, Stephanie Bice, Victoria Spartz, Carlos Gimenez, Maria Elvira Salazar, and Byron Donalds.
The contrast between the Squad and the Freedom Force in many ways symbolizes the ongoing battle for the soul of the nation. On one side you have an ideology that despises our nation and all it stands for, wants top-down government control of every aspect of American life, and seeks to dismantle capitalism. On the other side you have patriots who firmly believe in our founding principles, wish to give Americans the freedom to live out their individual dreams, and want to remove government as a barrier to entrepreneurism.
Freedom should not be controversial and every House member – Republican or Democrat – should support freedom. Progressives have used education, media, and pop culture to push a poisonous ideology that puts government above entrepreneurism and free enterprise.
Are Republicans finally fighting back?
