Our summer-long, twenty-day lawn sign poll from our first day on the road caught the tone of American voters. (Read here, here, here, here and here). We polled from Camden, Maine, to Key West. We needed the six liberal New England states to gauge Clinton sentiment (totally lacking) and the whole run of battleground states from Pennsylvania through North Carolina, Georgia and, of course, Florida, where we got the count all the way from the Georgia border to Key West, just 90 miles from Cuba.
Twenty days on the road and twenty victories for Mr. Trump. Moreover, the counts were not even close. There was approaching zero oomph for Hillary Clinton. For long stretches of our run, it was as though Clinton had withdrawn from the race.
And yet the biased, big time electronic and print media polls continued to pump out the phony Clinton victory charade. Did none of the compromised media folk sense the urgency of the masses of voters at Trump rallies and the paucity of folk at the energy- and agenda-free Clinton rallies? Come on here, the fix against Trump and, for that matter, Bernie was in from day one.
The final nail in the Clinton coffin for Debbie and for me was provided by our two-month-long European swings last spring and fall. Like America, revolt has been in the air in a big way. Hungary, Slovenia, Austria, Germany and certainly France—where revolt against the ruling elite is at a boil. We heard over and over about conditions in Switzerland, Italy, Poland, England, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Russia. The U.S is not a political island as the bought-off and now permanently disgraced U.S. electronic and print media found to their horror.
Debbie and I concentrate on on-the-ground anecdotal evidence gathering, in-person questioning, and constant exposure to a wide cross-section of American and international travelers. Add it all together and a profile emerges that is the foundation of our strategy building that includes geo-politics as well as business and investing.
As Americans will soon find out, the revolt we have seen emerging is in its infancy. The old confederacy has seen a new rebirth and has kicked out entrenched elites across the south. Look at the vote spread. The two major parties (we are small government independents favoring a Swiss approach to government) are now disgraced and will play but a minor role in the rebuilding of America. Nowhere is the revolt more necessary than at the Supreme Court, where Mr. Trump will get a chance to prove to Americans his Scalia mettle.
For the Clintons, decades of shame, lying, deceit and self-serving enrichment have now been laid front and center, exposed to all Americans. It is long past time for payback!
