Red Cat Holdings’ maritime division, Blue Ops, has announced full-rate production of the Variant 7 (V7), a US-built uncrewed surface vessel designed for defense and national security missions. Built with NDAA-compliant American-made components and a domestic supply chain, the V7 is engineered for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, harbor security, contested logistics, and other maritime operations for US and allied forces.
Designed and manufactured in Maine and Georgia with testing support in Florida, the V7 features a Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA), allowing customers to configure sensors, payloads, communications, and mission systems for specific operational requirements. The platform is also part of Red Cat’s broader “Family of Systems” strategy, integrating autonomous capabilities across air, land, and sea.
Blue Ops’ expansion into production reflects growing US defense demand for scalable autonomous maritime systems and aligns with federal efforts to strengthen the domestic maritime industrial base. Red Cat’s recent acquisition of Apium Swarm Robotics further enhances the V7’s future autonomy and coordinated swarm operation capabilities.
