AI Is Transforming Electronic Warfare

L3Harris Technologies and Shield AI have demonstrated a new integration combining L3Harris’ Distributed Spectrum Collaboration and Operations (DiSCO) system with Shield AI’s Hivemind autonomy software to enable autonomous electronic warfare operations. The test showed how unmanned systems can detect, analyze, and respond to electromagnetic threats in real time without human intervention.

During the simulation, DiSCO fused threat data from multiple unmanned aircraft to create a shared electromagnetic picture, allowing Hivemind-powered drones to identify safe zones and maneuver autonomously.

The demonstration also incorporated the L3 Harris’s Green Wolf electronic warfare vehicle, with both companies planning live flight tests later this year to further advance coordinated autonomous electronic warfare capabilities.
