Shield AI and Thunder Tiger Corp. today announced the successful completion of Hivemind’s first multi-asset autonomous teaming demonstration on water, validating Shield AI’s Hivemind AI pilot aboard Thunder Tiger’s SeaShark unmanned surface vessels (USVs). Conducted in Pingtung, Taiwan, the demonstration saw the SeaShark 600 and SeaShark 800 autonomously carry out an intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) mission using maritime radar, imagery, and Automatic Identification System (AIS) data. The vessels independently planned mission routes, identified a target vessel, and coordinated to escort it out of the designated search area, marking Hivemind’s first maritime radar and AIS integration.

The demonstration builds on the strategic partnership announced earlier this year between the two companies to integrate Hivemind into Thunder Tiger’s unmanned systems portfolio. The AI pilot enables unmanned systems to continue operating in GPS- and communications-denied environments while supporting autonomous mission execution and coordinated swarming capabilities. Thunder Tiger, the only Taiwanese company with US Department of Defense Blue UAS certification for its FPV drones, said the collaboration strengthens its autonomous capabilities and expands opportunities with the US and allied defense markets. The companies plan to further develop sensor integration, advanced autonomy, larger multi-platform operations, and open-ocean missions.
