In early returns, reality television star Spencer Pratt officially called the second runoff spot Tuesday night because of California’s lengthy ballot-counting process, urged into second place in early, but unofficial, returns.
Pratt is best known nationally for his role on “The Hills,” a reality show.
Karen Bass continues the fight:
“I appreciate you for standing with me when others doubted me, because you know who I am,”
I have devoted my entire life to serving the city that I love, where I was born, and I’m going to continue to do that all the way to victory in November.”
After results started coming in, Pratt told reporters that he and Bass can debate “every Friday if (Bass) would like.”
Here are ways Pratt blames Bass for failures on quality of life issues:
1. LA is covered in potholes
2. NO sidewalks, no street lights
3. I’m an Angelo, says Pratt. “Enough is enough.”
4. “Pratt’s campaign gained national attention, tapping into voter anger over visible urban decline across Los Angeles,” writes AG News staff. In other LA election news: Progressive Democrat Nithya Raman, LA city council member, is in 3rd place behind Bass and Pratt. Raman’s campaign focused on reducing inequality, building housing, and reviving the struggling entertainment industry.
