For years, rumors have circulated that Rep. Ilhan Omar married her brother in order to secure him a green card. Now, the New York Post reports that sources said that DNA evidence was collected during a recent raid by immigration officers on Omar’s home, and that the evidence is “critical to proving an allegation that Omar married her brother.” The New York Post’s Samuel Chamberlain reports:
One source said the DNA evidence was critical to proving an allegation that Omar married her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, in 2009 to help him get a green card — which never came to fruition.
Two additional sources have indicated that the evidence gathered from Omar’s home, as well as that provided by whistleblowers and government records, has provided a solid basis to go before a grand jury to secure an indictment on charges of conspiracy to commit immigration fraud.
Border Czar Tom Homan discussed the case on Fox News; watch:
Boarder Czar Tom Homan says investigators have a “strong case” against Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar.
And, he’s making one thing clear: No one gets special treatment.
“If she violated law then she’d be held accountable,” he said on @BigWeekendShow, noting federal agents are following the evidence in their investigations.
His comments come days after federal agents raided Omar’s home in Washington, D.C., as part of a criminal investigation reportedly involving her immigration paperwork.
