Lavrov Declares “War” with NATO and EU Amid Ukraine Conflict

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared that Russia is at “war” with NATO and the European Union over Ukraine during a G20 meeting at the UN General Assembly, according to Politico. His statement comes as US President Donald Trump shifts his stance on the conflict, expressing confidence that Ukraine can win and urging NATO countries to shoot down Russian drones crossing their airspace. Trump also suggested that Ukraine could reclaim all its territory with continued support. Meanwhile, Lavrov met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who called on Russia to take steps toward resolving the conflict. They write:

Lavrov on Wednesday met with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who urged Moscow to “take meaningful steps toward a durable resolution” to the war and reiterated Trump’s call for an end to the bloodshed, according to a State Department readout.

Russian Satellites Tracking German Military Satellites, Berlin Reveals

At the same time, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius revealed that Russia is actively tracking two Intelsat satellites used by the German military. Speaking at a Berlin space conference, Pistorius warned that Russia and China possess advanced space warfare capabilities, including satellite jamming and disruption. To counter these threats, Germany plans to invest €35 billion in its space programs over the next five years. He also highlighted that 39 Russian and Chinese reconnaissance satellites are currently monitoring Europe in real time, underscoring the growing strategic competition in space. They write:
