It seems that linoleic acid, even in small amounts, helps to feed malignant tumors. Linoleic acid is the primary fatty acid in the omega-6 family of essential fatty acids. Researchers have discovered that the entire family of omega-6 fatty acids are culprits in promoting tumor growth. Our bodies require omega-6 essential fatty acids, but most Americans consume too much linoleic acid. All fats and oils contain linoleic acid, but safflower, corn, peanut, soybean, cottonseed, and sunflower oils are the deadliest. In fact, safflower oil, with a 200-to-1 ratio of linoleic acid (omega-6) to alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3) is the deadliest of all. I try to avoid the entire deadly lot.
