You instinctively know that U.S. energy independence is a good thing for the country. The Wall Street Journal reports, “The U.S. is overtaking Russia as the world’s largest producer of oil and natural gas, a startling shift that is reshaping markets and eroding the clout of traditional energy-rich nations.” Yet the Obama administration has railed against big oil at every turn. Meanwhile, natural gas offers a unique value proposition on an equivalent BTU basis.
The International Energy Agency reports that the U.S. tapped more natural gas than Russia for the first time since 1982. But imagine the missed opportunities because of the Obama administration.
