It’s the same old song from the Obama camp and Washington for that matter. Obama wants to save the middle-class. Again.
Republicans remain skeptical of Mr. Obama’s vision for the economy. “They’ve been saying the same thing for four years,” said Don Stewart, a spokesman for Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.). “The previous Democrat Congress passed his agenda—Obamacare, the stimulus, thousands of pages of regulations—and the economy is treading water. More taxes, more regulation, and more failures to unleash American energy jobs are not the answer.”
Brendan Buck, a spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio), said:”We’ve seen this song and dance before: tired ideas that have been rejected by both parties for years. The truth is whether it’s his health care law, his job-destroying energy policies, or the mountain of regulations piling up, it’s the president’s own policies that are responsible for this new normal of weak economic growth and high unemployment.”
