Northrop Grumman and the United States Air Force are accelerating production of the B-21 Raider to deliver the next-generation stealth bomber to operational units more quickly. Backed by more than $5 billion in digital engineering and manufacturing investments, the program is advancing through ground and flight testing, with the first aircraft scheduled to arrive at Ellsworth Air Force Base in 2027.

Designed as a sixth-generation stealth bomber capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear payloads, the B-21 is built for long-range strategic deterrence and operations in highly contested environments. Officials say strong test performance, advanced digital manufacturing, and close industry–Air Force collaboration are enabling higher production rates while ensuring the aircraft remains adaptable and ready to face future threats.
