UPDATE 3.31.23: Once again, Democrats are attempting to use the actions of a lunatic to infringe on the rights of 330 million law-abiding Americans. Thankfully it appears that Republicans in the Senate and House aren’t going to help Democrats in their efforts. Sen. UPDATE 8.22.22: I wrote this post years ago, and time has passed. The oldest of my grandchildren is now 21, and I’m 81, but my commitment to protecting freedom for my grandchildren has not faded. I still believe strongly in protecting their rights, and those of all law-abiding American citizens.

The oldest child is 16.
My MIT engineer Dad gave me a Winchester on my 16th birthday.
I am now 77 and have had guns all my life, never once shooting out my eye.
Every member of my family owns guns, is trained, and knows how to shoot.
There is never a downside to being able to defend yourself and your family. Never.
Insane cowards–those who would shoot up undefended schoolyards, and packed festival events and concerts–often have been no surprise to authorities. The liberal media, indentured politicians, Hollywood, pseudo-loft liberals, college Marxists, and the disenfranchised are now going nuts. All demand gun controls.
Long-time sponsors are breaking with the NRA.
Long ago I dropped out of the Republican Party, not much better than the income redistribution focused Democrats.

The political hacks would, among other stupidity-inspired acts, raise the legal age for gun purchase to 21 years. Vote each out of office. Can any politician explain why shooting a gun is more complicated or dangerous than a 16-year-old driving a car?
I own an AR-15 as well as an AK-47, a number of military grade side arms, and a plethora of Henry .22 carbines and survival rifles. My store of CCI .22 hollow point ammo would make a colonial garrison proud.
My family is similarly positioned.
We have trained with the NRA and in a number of cases Sig Sauer Academy. We are trained and prepared to defend ourselves.
