In the Unz Review, Mike Whitney reports that there is a “stir” among analysts who believe President Trump could be preparing “to target Iran’s nuclear facilities with ‘low yield’ nuclear bunker buster bombs that are designed to penetrate and destroy underground, fortified facilities.”
Meanwhile, Dan Hodges of the Daily Mail reports that “Trump is about to bomb Iran.” He writes:
Top Israeli sources reveal planned attack on nuclear sites and deliver chilling ‘war is coming’ warning
This morning the world’s focus is on Donald Trump’s decision to launch a global trade war. But in a few weeks’ time, the man who last month pledged to deliver ‘peace through strength’ is planning to embark on a real war. I’m currently in Tel Aviv, and according to several senior political, military and diplomatic sources, the United States and Israel are preparing to launch a strike on Iran that will finally eradicate the threat posed by the country’s nuclear weapons programme… A week ago, the U.S. deployed a trio of B2 “Spirit’ stealth bombers, accompanied by long-range refuelling assets, to its Chagos Islands base on Diego Garcia, bringing the total strength of the bomber force there to seven. This was significant because it’s rare to see such a major concentration of these sophisticated — and expensive — assets… There is still the possibility Iran could back down in the face of Trump’s ultimatum. But a senior British diplomatic source I spoke to expressed pessimism. Even if the Iranians do grant significant concessions, there is still no guarantee it would stay Israel’s hand.
Trump insisted recently that “bad bad things are going to happen to Iran” if they refused to work out a nuclear deal with the United States.
Iran responded with a promise to retaliate if the United States attacks.
In November of last year, Tucker Carlson discussed why going to war with Iran would be a bad idea with Elbridge Colby.
Elbridge Colby is one of the very few experienced national security officials who actually agrees with Donald Trump. He’s likely to play a big role in the new administration.

For his part, long time non-intervention proponent former congressman and presidential candidate, Dr. Ron Paul, can’t believe the short time it took for America to be on the brink of another war in the Middle East. Here’s what he said last week.
That didn’t take long.
A candidate elected to end current wars and avoid new ones, Donald Trump as president has significantly escalated the war on Yemen and is now threatening to attack Iran.
He is also threatening Russia (again) with punitive tariffs.
