I humbly beg to differ with Mr. Balfour. This has been a long nail-biter. After the criminal indictments, the disaster debates, the sitting President dropping out, the oddity of the Kamala Harris nomination, the assassination attempts, it’s time to take a deep breath. Awakening at 3 am, it was hard not to check media headlines. Instead, I forced myself to continue reading Robert Lacey’s The Crown. Nothing was going to happen in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, I assured myself: America’s democratic institutions, as The WSJ points out, are strong and resilient. It’s important for the millions of disappointed voters to not forget, a win or loss is only good till the next election. That’s the “brilliance” of a constitutional republic.

The age of equality has pushed us towards a great clash between the sexes. And the struggle between man and woman is one that matters to us all.
