Did Pennsylvania’s voters actually vote for a confused leftist like Joe Biden over “Americas’ All-Time Jobs Creator Donald Trump”? Or were the numbers electronically manipulated?
Well, let me tell you a true story of historical anecdotal evidence gathering.
Starting in the early nineties, Debbie and I began riding our Harleys through eastern Pennsylvania on route 209 from the Milford/Penn/NY border to the river crossing at Duncannon near Harrisburg, southwest of Scranton (Joe Biden is a native). We know the whole area like the back of our hand.
Penn Route 209 runs directly through Tamaqua home of the 7000-acre anthracite surface coal mine with its massive reserves of 300 million tons. For block after block, mile after mile squat tidy brick and frame, side by side row houses. And on one front porch after another sat grizzled, historically strong union, Democrat coal miners. Eastern Pa. is coal country. As we traveled, this year through anthracite country we were astounded at the dominance of Trump for President signs, banners, flags, and big custom signs. And Biden signs? Like Biden was not even running. The old-time anthracite crowd had swung hard for “the Make America Great Again” candidate, Donald Trump.
All the way down to the river and on to Carlisle to the south it was the same story through Pennsylvania farm country, Trump, Trump, Trump. And it was much more of the same as we exited Pa. into southern Virginia.
Now with the election over we read that after torrents of late-night arriving mail-in votes Joe Biden was the easy Pennsylvania winner and for that matter the winner of the election in total.
Well, I know some Pennsylvania coal miners who don’t and won’t ever buy into the mail in count.
