Vice President of the United States Joe Biden speaking at the Rural Tour held in Erie, PA in July 2009.
Dick and I are preparing to head to Key West this coming weekend. Four years ago (last presidential election), in between listening to “The Last Lion” to pass the time, we counted lawn signs on our 2,000-mile road trip from Newport to the Keys as a way of judging the 2016 political outcome.
One of our days, we will travel Rt. 209 from Milford along the Delaware Water Gap, before hitting the PA coal towns of Jim Thorpe, Tower City, Pottsville, and Elizabethville. We know 209 well from our Harley riding days between NE and VA.
We will keep you posted along our way to KW, arriving in time for voting day on 3 November.
Fracking, the Top Issue in PA
In 2016, even though Hillary was ahead in the polls in PA. Trump won the state founded by William Penn. Joe Biden is on record saying he would ban fracking, an obvious top issue in PA, reports BRIGHT editors.
There is perhaps no swing state more critical than Pennsylvania. For the last several months, Joe Biden has been significantly up in the polls there. However now it appears his lead has collapsed. According to a new Restoration PAC/Trafalgar Group poll released Monday,
Biden and Donald Trump are currently tied in the state. The survey, which polled 1,041 likely voters, shows Biden up by just 1 percent.
Restoration PAC founder and President Doug Truax said in a statement, “It looks like the race is essentially tied across the important upper Midwestern swing states. We believe President Trump has the stronger message down the stretch that will tip the balance his way.”
The conservative-leaning super PAC hired Trafalgar Group to conduct polls in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin in the final weeks before the election.
