Debbie and I were recently in Beaufort, South Carolina, one of our favorite retirement/second home destinations. At Plums, we had one of the two best raw oyster plates we’ve ever had. And at $10/dozens, these local oysters were a steal. Not far from Plums we found ourselves at Congressman Joe Wilson’s office. Joe is the brave soul who had the guts to tell President Obama “You lie” when the president disingenuously claimed that Obamacare wouldn’t cover illegal aliens. We much enjoyed our visit and agree with Joe’s calls for an across-the-board 5% cut in income taxes, making withdrawals from IRAs tax-free and penalty-free, allowing Americans to shop for health care across state lines, cutting capital gains and corporate taxes and fighting any possible national energy tax.
Joe is a former Army lawyer and Department of Energy official in the Reagan administration. He is running for reelection in November. Democrats are targeting Joe Wilson hard for having the nerve to call out the president on a bald-faced lie. Debbie and I support Joe Wilson for Congress.
