Three incumbent appropriations committee members have been defeated in this year’s primaries, and David Obey, chairman of the House Appropriations Committee has announced his retirement after seeing that he would likely lose his seat in a reelection bid. The appropriations committee is responsible for much of the spending that comes out of Congress, it’s no wonder Americans are angry at those on the committee, the committee members are the ones digging America deeper into debt. – Timothy Jones
