FedEx Driver Shot in the Neck: Defund Police?

December 10, 2020 By E.J. Smith - Your Survival Guy

You saw what blue-state politicians did to their states and cities this summer. They allowed looters and rioters to run rampant, and attacked law enforcement with a push to “defund the police.” In New York, even before the riots, politicians were attacking the ability of law enforcement to keep crime under control by eliminating bail requirements for many crimes. The politicians got what they wished for as crime spiked.

Now New York City is enduring a 14-year high in gun violence, and the city’s police Commissioner Dermot Shea blames the bail reform measure directly. The Daily Mail reports on a recent crime in which a murderer lay in wait for a FedEx driver and then shot him in the back of the neck by surprise. James Gordon writes:

This latest attack some comes as the commissioner of the New York Police Department says that the city is on pace to end 2020 with the highest level of gun violence since 2006 and that the state’s new bail reform law is to blame.

New York’s top cop, Dermot Shea, made the comments as official data from his department indicates that shootings have soared 96 per cent this year compared to 2019.

At this time last year, there were 735 reported shootings. This year, that number has nearly doubled to 1,433 incidents of gun violence.

The last time there were this many shootings in a single year was in 2006, when the NYPD reported 1,427 shootings.

‘I wish I had better news on gun violence specifically… we’re looking to close out the year on a 14-year high,’ Shea told NY1 on Tuesday morning.

‘This has been a year like no other.’

In November alone, there have been a total of 115 shootings – a 112 per cent jump compared to the same time last year.

November also saw 28 murders – a 38 per cent rise compared to November 2019.

We have made staggering numbers of gun arrests, taking guns off the streets from felons, doing it almost always without a shot being fired,’ Shea told NY1.

‘But when you look three days later, four days later, those individuals are back on the street committing more gun violence.’

Shea told NY1 that progressive policies that encourage criminal justice reform are making the city more dangerous.

‘Until we come to that realization as a society — is this what we want?’ he said.

The old saying is, “When seconds count, the police are minutes away.” Now you have to wonder if they’re coming at all. With blue state politicians defunding police departments, tying the hands of DAs, police, and judges, and letting criminals right back on the street, you need to be prepared to protect yourself. There may not be anyone else who can help.

Action Line: There’s never been a better time to get your gun and your training, now.

P.S. For a view into what spineless blue state political management looks like, watch what’s happening in Portland today in the video below. Portland’s Mayor Ted Wheeler and Oregon Governor Kate Brown have allowed radical thugs to take over part of the city, despite the offer of National Guard help from the President. At this point it’s not that they’re just spineless, they’re complicit.
