During a partisan gathering this week, Speaker Nancy Pelosi sought to prevent constructive dialogue between the executive and legislative branches of our government, reports Heather Caygle in Politico:
“I don’t want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison,” Pelosi said, according to multiple Democratic sources familiar with the meeting.
Rather than impeachment, Speaker Pelosi prefers to see President Trump defeated at the ballot box and then prosecuted for his alleged crimes, according to sources.
It Don’t Make No Sense
This doesn’t even make any sense, argues James Freeman in the WSJ.
Alleging that the President is a criminal but refusing to try to remove him from office means either that she (Pelosi) knows he really isn’t a criminal but is urging his imprisonment anyway or she actually believes he’s a criminal but thinks he should continue to hold the most powerful position in the world.
