In a recent interview with Bloomberg Surveillance, U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, laughed at the very idea of increasing oil production in America to ease the rampant inflation Americans are facing for gasoline, heating oil, natural gas, and propane. In her words, the idea of using America’s massive oil reserves to fight the rising inflation was “hilarious.”
Despite running a cabinet-level department with nearly $50 billion in annual funding, Granholm disclaimed all responsibility despite the department’s mission to “ensure America’s security and prosperity by addressing its energy.” Instead, Granholm pointed the finger at OPEC, despite the United States becoming a net energy exporter under the administration of President Donald Trump.
