Unlikely Defense for the Liver

They protect your liver from the nasty side effects of certain drugs as well as from the toxic effects of alcohol. They are saturated fats. Did you know that saturated fatty acids constitute over 50% of cell membranes? Also, saturated fats may actually enhance the immune system while lowering Lp(a), a substance in your blood that may indicate an elevated risk of heart disease.
