Even among top Champagnes, Salon stands out. It’s long been an insider’s Champagne loved for its sleek, kinetic minerality, its heartbreaking elegance, and its evolution in the cellar. Fans aren’t shy about going great lengths to chase the wine down.

Salon’s production is relatively small, so much so that it’s very rare that I’m able to offer the wine. Today, I’m happy to offer Salon’s 2015 at very sharp pricing.

Salon is the archetypal Mesnil Champagne. It’s incredibly clear,  incisively focused, and beautifully elegant.

The 2015 isn’t as brutally focused and mineral as many examples of the wine. This gives the wine an immediacy of enjoyment that I love. It’s unmistakably Salon with its laser-cut style, but it’s just a little gentler than some vintages. Antonio Galloni sums up the 2015 as “a Champagne of cool sophistication and total polish.” That captures it well.

When it comes to aging, Salon can hold its own with the best. We’ve tasted many examples with thirty years of age that were brilliant. As jaw-dropping as the 2015 is today, it’s very clear that it’s holding plenty in reserve and will be glorious in the decades to come.
