Since Debbie and my earliest days in Paris, we have been Sunday lunch regulars at La Fontaine De Mars, located in the 7th Arrondissement of Paris.
Most of the Sunday regulars tend to be older locals who dress for Sunday lunch and simply walk over from a nearby apartment to meet up with varying family members. It’s a wonderful happy environment, with many well-behaved kids in tow.
The menu has been the same since we first arrived and features a daily special. For example, Sunday’s special has long been a roast chicken with mashed potatoes.
Deb normally orders her favorite duck in Paris, duck confit. I have a hard time veering from the roasted and blackened Bar, skin on. What a special Sunday treat.
Perhaps there is no more compelling reason for Debbie and me to have decided that if we were to live in a Paris apartment, one of our two prime selected locations would be a sunny intersection (near the yoga studio) just up the street from La Fontaine De Mars in the 7th on the left bank.
