Your Survival Guy Remembers this Advice from Grandma

February 11, 2022 By E.J. Smith - Your Survival Guy

Happy Friday. Have you improved your personal safety and financial situation this week? Have you taken actionable steps to improve your self-reliance and financial independence? Where would your family be without you? It’s sad to think about, but it’s deadly serious business. It’s why your focus on personal safety and finance is so crucial.

As Your Survival Guy, much of my day is spent talking with successful Americans like you about their lives and investments. They trust me as a partner in their financial well-being. But a huge part of our talks is how they’re living right now and the peace of mind of not worrying about investing. I help them beat inertia because when to buy and sell is no longer their worry.

We all need a little help in order to beat inertia and to stay on our winning path. I’ll help you keep focused with my free monthly Survive & Thrive letter you can sign up for by clicking here.

Is Your Family Prepared for the Next Disaster? Click Here to Survive and Thrive

Your Survival Guy wants your personal security treasure chest to overflow with wealth because you deserve your success and fortune. But, there may be more you’re overlooking, but only if you want it—only if you want to meet your full potential. And who doesn’t?

How’s your physical strength been lately? How about your mind? Are you taking deep, meaningful breaths or staccato sips of air, never fully able to catch it? You worry about family. But it’s you who determines your family’s strength.

How about your organizational skills? Is that an area you can improve to free up your mind from the hectic state of running from one problem to another? Do you have something you can do today, right now, to ease your mind? How about sending in a check for the cruise you’ve wanted to take or setting up an appointment to look at a smaller house? Don’t get bogged down by paralysis analysis.

How’s your physical strength? You know it takes strength to live a life of self-reliance. I’m not talking about going crazy at the gym. I’m thinking about your own potential that’s there for the taking. On a walk-through Newport, RI this week with my mom, she reminded me: “Grandma used to always say, ‘as you get older, you can’t forget to keep repeating the four-letter word: PUSH.’” Grandma would say, “ If you don’t want to get out of bed for your exercise class or to meet friends for lunch, you need to PUSH yourself to do it.” And here we are today remembering her words of wisdom.

Action Line: Take out a piece of paper. Write down the next 30-days. At the top, write one thing you want to do today that you didn’t do yesterday. Now check that item off every day. Don’t put down “to run a marathon” or “become financially independent.” Those are results, not actions. If you spend 20-minutes per day on something for 30-days, that equals 600 minutes or 10-hours. That’s how habits are born no matter how old you are.
