Your Survival Guy was putting on the practice green before a member-guest outing when my friend and I were talking about how long the golf season might be this year in New England. “October is the new September,” he said as I nodded in agreement. “We’ve been lucky,” I said.

Which got me thinking about you and how you’re livin’. I hope you’re getting out there and doing what you love to do, getting every bit of activity in because, as some of us non-snowbirds know, “Winter is coming.” I’m just not ready to think about skiing quite yet.

And now I’m thinking about you and how you don’t necessarily feel your age. Don’t we all live in our minds like we’re still 30 years old? I know I do. Which is why I need to remind myself that I’m not, I’m 53, and I need to warm up a bit, stretch a little to avoid pulling a hammy.

Have you seen a picture of Oracle founder Larry Ellison lately? The guy looks amazing. He’s 81. He looks younger. I’m not here to tell you 80 is the new 60, but what I observe, in my conversations with you, is what you’re doing in your life to have some fun and how you sound younger than you are. That’s a good thing. Stay active.

Action Line: It’s funny how much younger one feels when your money problems aren’t problems at all. It’s nice when someone you trust takes care of that part of your life for you.
