In my conversations with a few prospective clients, not all of course, answers to some of my questions are enlightening. For example, when I ask about one’s investment objectives I often hear, “I want preservation of principal with growth.” To which I ask, “with a side of calorie free fries?” Kidding. But you get my point. We all want risk free returns. And that can best be referenced with the current yield on T-bills, which is 3.8%. Not bad.

Perspective in times like these is key. You don’t want to find out your portfolio didn’t match your risk tolerance when you’re out in the middle of the ocean without a paddle. Speaking of which, I hope you’re spending your money somewhat foolishly.
