One of the problems with emergency food prep is the thought that someday you might have to eat it. Your Survival Guy keeps an MRE package on his bookshelf as a daily reminder. You just don’t know what’s going to happen. Period.
But enough of that dire end of the world zombie apocalypse talk. In a conversation with a client last week, he told me they’re building FIFO shelves. Your Survival Guy remembers FIFO, first in first out, from his accounting days at Babson. Who knew it would come in handy for a real-life situation?
A couple of weeks ago, I was studying a can of tuna (a surprising amount of information) and said to myself: “Self, this stuff lasts a long time, I enjoy eating it, and it’s loaded with protein. Great for a low-carb meal. Yes, there’s the mercury issue. But that might not be my biggest concern.”
Anyway, back to my conversation with a client. We both agreed that with a FIFO food system, you have a perfect, organized way to store food that you enjoy eating on a regular basis. This is a food solution you can live with for short-term problems like a multi-day power outage or the early days of a panic. I’ll leave that to your imagination.
Action Line: Your family depends on you. Make preparation a part of your daily thinking. You got this. Let’s talk.
P.S. Come Monday: find out why Your Survival Guy is Hopelessly Devoted to You.
