Dear retired, or soon to be retired, investor,
You control more than you may think, especially in times like these, but first, let me say how proud I am of your success. You didn’t get here by accident. You saved ‘til it hurt and lived within your means. Two tasks that are easy to say, harder to do. But what about your future? The rest of your retirement life?
You probably think about successful investors and how rich they are. It’s one of America’s favorite pastimes, seeing who’s a billionaire and who was but isn’t anymore. There are both rags to riches and riches to rags stories—the Forbes billionaires and the ones who once were.
But what about the group who made money slowly over time? They may not be billionaires, but they certainly don’t need to work another day in their life if they don’t want to. This is the group I cater to because they appreciate what they have and don’t think they rule the world. There’s more of this group, the silent class, who will be heard. Just wait. And many in my silent class choose to keep working because they like making money and someone wants them out of the house. I get it. I’m Your Survival Guy. I know when it’s time to go to the office.
When you realize that the skills you used to make your living or to save your money are different than the investing skills you’ll deploy to keep it in retirement, then you’re onto something. When you understand that losing costs more than winning, you understand a lot about investing and, even more so, about life.
Action Line: I want to help you find the path to your retirement life. I want you to tell me about your success. I’m ready to listen. I’d love to hear from you.
